2012-2013 Initiatives

Top three priorities:

• Develop marketing plan to recruit new members through NKF, NATCO Annual Summer Meeting and the Live Donor Advocate Listserv
• Establish LDCOP as a body of experts in multidisciplinary approach to live organ donation by identifying suitable individuals within the COP with expertise in all aspect of live donor care who will be responsible in working with other groups including: Public Policy Committee, Kidney & Pancreas Advisory Council.
• Organize related education session at ATC 2013 with detailed program proposal about Live Donor Issues.

Other initiatives:

• Clarify the Role of the Live Donor Advocate and Identify Best Practices in the Process of the Living Donation by developing workgroups focused on reviewing existing practices and determining the best practice.
• Identify Best Practices in Clinical Care of the Live Organ Donor by developing a workgroup to review existing evidence and consensus papers and determine the best practices for the care of the Live Donor.
• Develop Patient Care Guidelines and Position papers using standard and unconventional media forms by developing a workgroup to address the important issues.
