On July 31, 2012, AST member Dr. Peter Reese received the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, the highest honor bestowed by the United States Government to science and engineering professionals in the early stages of their independent research careers. Dr. Reese is an assistant professor of Medicine and Epidemiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Reese received the award for "innovative work on ethical approaches to expanding access to organ transplantation."
