2018 PCOP Trainee and Allied Health Membership Grant

PCOP MEMBERSHIP GRANT APPLICATION

Introducing the Trainee and Allied Health Membership Grant Program

The Pediatric Community of Practice (PCOP) announces a new program, which will provide a one-year membership to the AST and PCOP. This grant program is open to individuals who are NOT members of the AST (who would become NEW AST members if they receive this grant).

The grant program is designed to help medical trainees and allied health professionals get more exposure to the field of pediatric transplantation and provide a structure for professional networking within the pediatric transplant community.

If you know any trainees or allied health professionals who would be interested in this membership grant, please share the application with them and encourage them to apply!

Medical Trainee PCOP Membership Grant

The goal of this grant is to support interest in a career in transplantation. Becoming a member of the AST is a great opportunity for pediatrics-committed medical students, residents, and fellows to connect with a community of mentors and become more involved in the transplant field. This grant is appropriate to trainees who have already committed to training in transplantation or are considering doing so in the future. Trainees will need an existing full member to sponsor their application.

Allied Health PCOP Membership Grant

The goal of this grant is to enable pediatric allied health professionals with an existing interest in transplantation to connect with colleagues and mentors. This grant is appropriate to (but is not limited to) staff nurses (RN), nurse practitioners (NP, CRNP, FNP, ACNP), physician assistants (PA), clinical nurse specialists (CNS), transplant coordinators (CCTC), social workers (MSW), doctors of nursing practice (DNP), and doctors of pharmacy (PharmD).

Application Requirements (for both Grants)

  • Applicant CV
  • One (1) letter of sponsorship from a full member of the AST (on institutional letterhead)
  • Applicant Statement of Interest (200-400 words) detailing why they are interested in a career in transplantation and how they anticipate active participation in the AST and PCOP will further their career goal.
  • THE APPLICATION CANNOT BE SAVED AS A DRAFT. Applicants must be prepared to complete the application entirely before submitting.

Terms of Agreement

  • PCOP will pay for one year of AST membership for up to ten (10) grant recipients,
  • ATC 2018 will take place June 2-6, 2018, in Seattle. If grant recipients are attending this meeting, they are expected to attend the annual PCOP meeting.
  • Grant recipients will provide a written summary to the PCOP Executive Committee by May 31, 2019, detailing their active participation in the AST and PCOP and their plans, if any, to renew their AST membership.

The deadline for applications is April 1, 2018, 11:59 pm. Trainees and Allied Health professionals who are awarded membership grants will be notified the week of April 16, 2018.

Once again, if you know any trainees or allied health professionals who would be interested in this membership grant, please encourage them to apply!
