July 19, 2016 - AST Board of Directors Meeting Summary

The AST Board of Directors met by teleconference on July 19, 2016, and discussed the following items:

Board members reviewed and approved:

  • Minutes from its June 9-10 and June 14, 2016 meetings in Boston.
  • A six month no-cost grant extension requested by Dr. Blayne Sayed regarding his fellowship research grant.
  • Submission of an editorial drafted by the AST and ASTS presidents regarding human trafficking and the sale of organs

The board received an update regarding the 2016 AST-ESOT Basic Science Meeting, the 2017 AST-ASHI Antibody Consensus Conference, and the Transplant Therapeutics Consortium (TTC).
