SEPTEMBER 20, 2016 - BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING SUMMARY

The AST Board of Directors met by teleconference on September 20, 2016. The following items were discussed:

Board members reviewed and approved:

  • Minutes from the August 10-12, 2016 meeting
  • A manuscript outlining the December 17, 2015 APOL1 Consensus Building Meeting for submission to the AJT
  • The concept and creation of a new hub site meant to facilitate discussion regarding questions in transplantation. This effort is meant to engage the membership and offering networking opportunities.
  • Proposed initiatives for a second call of commitments from the White House on advancing the field of organ transplantation.

The board received an informal update regarding the recent Transplant Therapeutics Consortium meeting, held in Washington DC.
