Graduated from: Trivandrum Medical College, Kerala, India
Current Position: Director, Transplant Quality, Pediatric Solid Organ Transplantation Director, Renal Transplant Transition Program, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Associate Program Director, Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship Program, Emory University, Atlanta, GA
Current Projects: My research is currently on urinary biomarkers for early detection of rejection. I am also working on studying ways to improve adherence in adolescents by leveraging technology.
What made you decide to work in transplantation? I find transplant immunology fascinating. I will credit my mentors throughout my training for igniting the spark. The resilience shown by our patients and their families in transplant is so inspiring that it motivates me everyday. I am also thankful for the opportunity to teach and pass along our current knowledge to new learners as well as continue to be a life long learner myself in the ever evolving field of transplantation.
What do you find to be the most valuable aspect of your work? Although I feel excited about all the opportunities I have with my clinical work, research, administrative and teaching responsibilities, without doubt, my patients and their achievements are the most fulfilling aspect of my work. I see every child and adolescent I care for, coming in with so much potential and I am grateful to play a small part in helping them reach it.
Fun Fact: I love to visit National Parks in the US and other countries with my family and we visit at least one every year.
