The World Transplant Congress (WTC) is the premier event for organ transplantation physicians, scientists, surgeons, and others. It brings together more than 6,000 attendees to learn cutting-edge scientific ideas and clinical practice.
Attending WTC is a great opportunity for medical students and residents to learn more about the field of transplantation and connect with a community of trainees and mentors and connect with transplant professionals around the world.
The Trainee and Young Faculty Community of Practice (TYF COP) and The Women’s Health Community of Practice (WHCOP), with the support of AST, are offering this travel grant to support interest in the next generation of medical professionals in a career in transplantation. We anticipate offering multiple grants and the exact number will be determined based on quality and quantity of applications received.
WTC 2025 will take place in San Francisco from August 2 - August 6. It is organized jointly by the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS), the American Society of Transplantation (AST), and The Transplantation Society (TTS).
Who We’re Looking For:
✅ Applicants – Medical students and residents (including pharmacy students and residents) in the US or Canada with an interest in transplantation (no prior experience required). Grant recipients will receive funding for travel, lodging, and registration.
✅ Application Reviewers – Transplant professionals willing to review and evaluate applications to help select the most promising future transplant professionals. Go
✅ Mentors – Experienced transplant professionals who can provide guidance and support to grant recipients before and during WTC 2025. Mentors play a vital role in shaping the next generation of transplant leaders. Go

Mentor pairs are expected to connect before the WTC and continue their collaboration during the meeting. This opportunity not only provides valuable guidance and networking but also serves as a platform to foster the growth of the transplantation workforce. By nurturing the next generation of transplant professionals, this initiative aims to contribute significantly to the advancement of transplantation.
