A Welcomed New National Policy in China

AST member Francis L. Delmonico, MD, has commented on worldwide trends in transplantation in the past, and recently published a statement in Transplantation regarding China’s new program for deceased organ donation. "If China is to sustain a successful program of deceased-organ donation, the Chinese people must trust a national system that distributes organs equitably," Dr. Delmonico writes. "Therefore, this policy article highlights the development of the China Organ Transplant Response System designed to allocate organs transparently, identifying recipients from a computerized waitlist."
