ASE: Another Year, Another Success

Orlando, FL – October 24, 2010

The AST Annual Scientific Exchange, “Viewing Allograft Rejection Through a Basic Science Lens and Applying Innovative Clinical Strategies”, took place October 21-24 at the Peabody Hotel in Orlando, Florida. For the second straight year, junior and senior transplant professionals gathered for a unique and stimulating educational experience. The meeting started daily with morning symposia created in conjunction with related societies; each program addressing the meeting topic as it related to their specialty. The daily general session was filled with abstract presentations, and attendees used their handheld Spotme devices to participate in interactive Q&A. Each grouping of abstracts was punctuated by an “expert commentary” lecture that connected the abstracts and bridged the gap between basic and clinical science. The ASE UNConference on Friday night was once again a resounding success, where attendees took part in a speed networking-style social with some of transplantation’s biggest names. Throughout the meeting, attendees mingled in the ASE Learning Pavilion during extended breaks and poster luncheons, at the same time getting the latest updates from industry. The next ASE meeting is sure to continue the trend of fresh science, lively discussion, and an intimate setting. For more 2010 wrap-up information and for future updates visit www.ast-ase.org.
