The HHS Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced it will issue a Final Rule on September 30, 2019, eliminating current burdensome and unnecessary transplant center re-approval requirements. The transplant societies and broader community have worked collectively for some time with CMS to review and refine these transplant center requirements so that the primary focus of transplant medicine remains on transplant patients - and not on overburdensome paperwork.
