The AST, representing a majority of medical professionals engaged in the field of solid organ transplantation, commends the steadfast commitment and resolve of Immuno Bill champions Congressmen Ron Kind (D-WI) and Dr. Michael Burgess, M.D. (R-TX) for their extraordinary efforts to ensure that kidney transplant patients have access to critical immunosuppressant medications to preserve and protect their life-saving donor organ.
For more than two decades, the passage of the Immuno Bill has been a top tier public policy priority for the AST.
“We are very grateful to the House of Representatives, Congressmen Burgess, Kind, and the many members of the House that have lent their support over the years to this critical patient issue. It is our greatest hope for transplant patients that the U.S. Senate will also take action in the next week and send the bill to the President’s desk," said Dr. Formica.
