The AST Announces 2021 Achievement Awards, Grant Recipients, and FAST Members

2021 Achievement Awards

The American Society of Transplantation (AST) announced the recipients of its 2021 Achievement Awards at the recent American Transplant Congress (ATC) on June 6, 2021. The recipients were awarded for their achievements and contributions to the AST and the field of transplantation.

In 2021, the AST expanded its awards categories to be more inclusive to the community. The new Advancing Equity in Organ Transplantation Award recognized an individual whose work has made a significant impact on increasing equity and reducing racial disparities in transplantation.

Additional awards were created for members who are almost exclusively clinically or administratively focused.

During the presentation, the AST also awarded the 2020 and 2021 Lifetime Achievement Awards. The 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient was Dr. Gabriel Danovitch, and the recipient of the 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award was Dr. Robert Ettenger. Learn more about their achievements here.
