White House call for commitments to reduce transplant waiting list

The White House Organ Summit was focused on reducing the wait list for transplantation.  During that meeting, a number of organizations announced new initiatives that were innovative and collaborative and intended to address the organ shortage.

In a follow-up from the Summit, the White House Office of Science & Technology Policy (OSTP) has announced an open call for commitments focused on addressing the organ shortage. Individuals and organizations are invited to submit information on new initiatives that have the ability to decrease the transplant wait list. A blog published in early September provides additional information including the commitment criteria and the timeline.  The deadline to submit commitments has been extended to October 10.
