Education Newsletter - August 2017
Dear AST Members,
We are launching a monthly newsletter from the AST Education Committee that will highlight upcoming educational activities as well as past webinars and journal clubs that can be accessed online. The AST community generates a tremendous amount of quality educational content, though our members are frequently not aware of how to get them on the AST website.
As an example, you may access a fantastic lecture from Dr. Nickerson discussing “Updates in Donor-Specific Antibody Testing" in the T3 webinars. Dr. Nickerson highlights important learning points such as why “low MFI does not mean low level of antibody”. Watch the video or scroll through all the slides on PDF. Your choice… (be sure to log in to access the content, which is free for AST members).
You can also check the journal club videos, including one in which Dr. Julian discusses his recent article entitled: “Effect of Replacing Race With Apolipoprotein L1 Genotype in Calculation of Kidney Donor Risk Index." The session was moderated by Dr. Newell. Helpful examples of the use of the modified calculator in actual patients are illustrated!
