Timely Topics in Transplantation

Timely topics in transplantation presented by expert faculty.

Timely Topics in Transplantation (T3) webinars are the perfect opportunity to listen to a live presentation by expert faculty on a current issue in transplantation. Live attendees are encouraged to participate by submitting questions to help shape the Q&A discussion featured in each session.

What makes the Timely Topics in Transplantation webinar series so relevant to the interests of transplant professionals? T3 webinars are developed by the AST Education Committee in partnership with the AST Communities of Practice. Every year, 7 to 10 new webinars are added to the series, featuring topics identified by COP and Committee leaders as the most important to transplant professionals.

All T3 webinars are $25 per session, but free to AST members as part of their member benefits package. All webinars are available on-demand after the live air date.

The 2024-2025 T3 Webinar Series will feature important topics like:

  • "Utilizing GLP-1 Agonists to Improve Access to Solid Organ Transplantation", focusing on the potential uses, safety, and efficacy of these popular weight loss medications in transplant.
  • "Xenotransplantation: Pig-to-Human Kidney Transplant", featuring presentations from the experts at Mass General Hospital and NYU Langone.
  • "Normothermic Regional Perfusion vs. Ex-Vivo Machine Perfusion: What is the Best Approach to a DCD Donor in 2025?", featuring presentations and discussion on the pros and cons of NRP and MP.
  • "The Impact of the New FDA final Rule on Laboratory Developed Tests (LDT) in Transplantation", featuring presentations and discussion on this new rule and the effects it may have on testing and development.
