Opportunities for AST Members

Many volunteer opportunities are available to AST members. We offer a variety of initiatives you can join to help the AST promote scientific initiatives, foster professional education, and improve patient care. If you want to volunteer, there is a place for you!

Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Standing committees
  • As-needed Task Forces
  • Communities of Practice (COPS)
  • Leadership positions, including the Board of Directors and Community of Practice Executive Committees

Committees & Task Forces

AST committees generally run on a June-May cycle and are by Presidential appointment. Submit your name to be considered for a committee or task force.

Communities of Practice

All members can join our specialty Communities of Practice. Once you’ve joined, inquire about a workgroup or consider running for the Executive Committee.

AST Leadership

Submit a nomination for the AST Board of Directors or Community of Practice Executive Committees. Nominations open in the fall for the Board and winter for the Communities of Practice.
