Larry B. Melton, MD, PhD, named Medical Director of Kidney/Pancreas Transplant at HackensackUMC

As of January 11, 2016, Dr. Melton began his new role at HackensackUMC. He previously served as the Medical Director of Kidney/Pancreas Transplantation at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas and the Dallas Transplant Institute.
Dr. Melton received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio, then completed his internship and residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. He then completed his nephrology fellowship at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts and remained in Boston as an Instructor in Medicine and Nephrology at Harvard Medical School for a year after completion of his fellowship.
He has served on multiple committees for the American Society of Transplantation and is currently on the Board of Directors for the AST.
