Governance

The AST is a professional society formed in 1982. The AST is a 501c(3) non-profit organization.

The Society is governed by a 14-member Board of Directors elected by its members. The Board sets the Society’s vision and purpose, establishes its expectations through policies, and sets the strategic plan. The AST’s operations are led by a team of professional staff dedicated to implementing the Board's vision through strategies and actions that advance the profession and improve higher education through data-informed decisions.
