Go with the flow: Cystatin C use in solid organ transplant

Developed by AST's Transplant Pharmacy COP and American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), in partnership with AST's Liver and Intestinal, Kidney Pancreas, and Thoracic and Critical Care COPs.

Objectives: 

  1. Identify the strengths and limitations of utilization of Cystatin C to assess renal function in solid organ transplant populations, including recipients and donors. 
  2. Review literature evaluating the relationship of use of cystatin C to clinical outcomes. 
  3. Review medication dosing principles with Cystatin C and apply cystatin C-based eGFR to clinical case(s) in transplant.
