Community of Practice Executive Committee Elections: 2019-2020

Nominations accepted from February 5 through February 25, 2019, 11:59 pm Eastern

Nomination Form

Communities of Practice (COPs) are a vital part of the American Society of Transplantation (AST), providing education, networking, collaboration, and other resources for their members.

Each COP is governed by an Executive Committee (EC) elected by that COP’s members. The primary role of the EC is to define and plan COP initiatives and lead the COP.

Annual COP elections are an opportunity to become an active member of the AST. A position on a COP EC allows AST members to contribute to COP and AST initiatives and to lead colleagues within their specialty area. They are seen as subject matter experts in areas such as manuscripts, educational content and policy comments.

This year, we have 48 COP EC positions available so there are numerous opportunities to share your leadership skills.

Eligibility

  • To nominate or to be nominated for an EC position, you must be:
    • AST member in good standing (new member as of December 31, 2018, or renewed membership for 2019 by December 31, 2018)
    • current member of that COP
  • You may nominate as many individuals as you want (including yourself) for as many positions as you want.
  • An individual may only be on the election ballot for one open position. Therefore, if an individual is nominated for more than one position, they will be asked to choose one preferred position.

Responsibilities

Elections and Voting

  • Voting will start on or around March 25, 2019.

Note: The Early Career Member-at-Large replaces the Trainee position on an EC. It is now an elected position. See the definition per COP here.
