Election FAQs

The American Society of Transplantation's 2025 election will open in fall 2024.

 

1. When is the election?

Voting will open in spring 2025.


2. What is on the ballot?

In 2025, AST members will be voting for President-Elect, Secretary, and 3 Councilors-at-Large.


3. Who will receive a ballot?

As indicated by the AST bylaws, eligible voters include all current Full Members, Trainee Members, and International Members.


4. What if I joined or paid my dues after the ballot was sent – can I still vote?

Yes! Your membership must be current by May 24, 2025 to vote in the election. You will receive an email ballot after your dues payment.


5. When should I expect my ballot?

The AST utilizes electronic voting; no paper ballots are sent. You should receive your ballot during the day via email on April 22. Please make sure you have a valid email address on file to ensure participation. Ballot reminders will be sent as the deadline approaches to those members who have not yet submitted a vote. 


6. Who will the email come from?

The email containing the link to vote will come from vote@simplyvoting.com. Please add this email address to your address book and/or safe list as it decreases the chance of this email getting sent into your SPAM folder. If you have not received your ballot, please check your SPAM folder. If you still cannot locate your ballot, please contact the AST National Office, at info@myAST.org.


7. When is the deadline for voting?

May 29 at 11:59 pm Eastern is the deadline for voting. Late ballots will not be accepted.


8. What happens after I receive the email to vote?

The email will contain a direct link to the ballot. Just click on the link in your email to cast your vote.


9. Will my vote count?

Absolutely! A printable receipt with your voting choices will be emailed to you after you vote at your request. You can print this receipt for your records.


10. How secure and confidential is my vote?

Your vote is 100% secure and confidential. No AST leaders or staff has access to any specific votes. All votes are anonymous. No one will ever know how you voted except you!


11. When will we find out the results of the election?

The results of the election will be announced at the AST Town Hall on June 3. Attend the Town Hall to find out the results and watch our website for updates!


12. May I still vote with a paper ballot?

No. Members must vote online.


13. Who do I contact for additional questions about the election, including if I lost my ballot email?

Please contact the AST National Office, 856-439-9986, info@myast.org.
