Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a worldwide public health problem that needs to be managed in its early stages in order to prevent its development or slow its progression.

This inaugural course will examine disease burden, recommendations for assessment and management, clinical practice guidelines, clinical trials, new therapies, areas of uncertainty and future challenges of this disease. 

Through didactic lectures, case presentations, and panel discussions, the following topics will be explored:

About Nephrology

Nephrology is a specialty of medicine that concerns itself with the study of normal kidney function, kidney problems, the treatment of kidney problems and renal replacement therapy (dialysis and kidney transplantation). Systemic conditions that affect the kidneys and systemic problems that occur as a result of kidney problems are also studied in nephrology. A physician who has undertaken additional training to become an expert in nephrology may call themselves a nephrologist or renal physician.
